Minimal Standard Terminology Version 2.5

More Information

Introduction
The Minimal Standard Terminology for Digestive Endoscopy is the official vocabulary for standardisation of endoscopic records and software applications proposed by the World Organisation for Digestive Endoscopy (OMED).

Standardization of endoscopic reports becomes mandatory to warrant the quality of the information transmitted to the referring physician and will in a near future be taken into account in quality assurance processes. Therefore, every practitioner needs to become familiar with standardized vocabularies and coding systems. The Minimal Standard Terminology has been developed for this purpose.

The book contains the terms with their appropriate definitions; on the interactive CD-ROM these are supplemented with high quality images selected by the international experts of the OMED committee. The CD-ROM also contains the tables of terms in various languages and a coding system aimed at facilitating the implementation of the Minimal Standard Terminology in endoscopic applications. This book and CD-ROM will thus provide clinicians, practitioners, trainees and students with a reference in digestive endoscopy.

The Normedia MST CD profits from the new and user-friendly software of the NormediaŽ CDGastro Version 3.0. After inserting the CD, it can be started without time-consuming installation procedures. Clear and well-structured menu functions provide fast and easy navigation through the contents. Additional specific search functions for text and pictures facilitate fast access to further, detailed information. And last but not least: all images can be copied into your own files.
